Things To Do from Bondcroft Farm B&B

From Bondcroft Farm windows the views are breathtaking. You can watch different wild birds feeding at the bird table each morning and there are plenty of wildlife and long distance scenes to enjoy if you take a walk up the lane to Embsay Crag.

Bondcroft is a Yorkshire Dales working farm with sheep, cows, donkeys, goats and chickens. From the beginning of April, new born lambs are in the fields with their delightfully inquisitive looks and playful antics.

Train enthusiasts can take a ride on the famous Embsay Steam Railway to Bolton Abbey, the Duke of Devonshire’s estate. Bolton Abbey offers ancient Priory ruins and over 80 miles of wonderful walks by the river Wharfe, taking in Strid wood and Barden Towers.

Skipton, the "Gateway to the Dales", is only two miles away with its shopping, castle and country town facilities. Skipton bustling market is on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and there are boat trips available on the Leeds Liverpool Canal most days.

Grassington, Malham and Haworth are all close by. Grassington is a popular Dales village with a summer Arts festival, September 1940s weekend and Christmas Dickensian weekends. Malham Tarn and Cove offers stunning limestone landscape and the whole of Upper Wharfedale is classic Yorkshire Dales countryside with stone walls and Yorkshire barns.

Historic Haworth was once home to the famous Bronte sisters. Explore Bronte country and find out more about their lives at the Bronte Parsonage Museum.

Visit Saltaire Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with David Hockney standing exhibition.

Within easy reach are the National Trust properties of East Riddlesden Hall, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden.

Ilkley is 9 miles away with famous moor, shops, riverside walk and annual Literature Festival.

Harrogate is 22 miles away with its’ Conference Centre, iconic Turkish Spa, Betty’s Tea Shop and Harlow Carr RHS Gardens.

Historic York is just 40 miles away. Visit York Minster and Shambles shopping street. Walk the walls and travel back in time with great museums such as York Castle Museum and the newly refurbished Jorvik Viking Museum.
